Toppings: Pan-fried slices of sausage, minced green onion, shredded cheese, and sour cream

STEP 1.

First, begin by cutting the link of sausage in half--reserving one half of the link for garnish (optional, see step 4). Remove the other half of the sausage from the outer casing and finely chop. STEP 2.

Next, add in chili powder, cumin, oregano, cayenne, powdered chicken broth and salt; brown for about 1 minute

STEP 3.

Next, add in bell pepper and onions--cook until onions are translucent. Then add in the can of diced tomatoes, beans, and water. Bring to boil, then lower heat. Simmer on low for 30 -45 minutes, stir periodically until chili thickens and flavors blend together. Let cool for 20 minutes, then serve.

STEP 4. (optional)

Finally, before serving cut the other half of the sausage into diagonal slices, brown till cooked thoroughly. Garnish the top of each bowl with a few pieces of sausage and diced green onion. SERVE AND ENJOY !!!!
