Aloha Links Smoked Pork with Passion Fruit Butter Glaze and Garlic Rice

This is a simple but delicious way to serve up some Aloha Links Smoked Pork! Giving a nod to the old school "Guava Jelly" trick, we've changed it up a bit and used another great locally sourced product to give this recipe its own unique twist that we know you will love !!!

Ingredients:

  • 1 Pound Aloha Links Smoked Pork

  • 1 Tablespoon Make Hungary Maui Passion Fruit Butter

  • 1/2 Tablespoon Soy Sauce (we used Kikkoman)

  • 2 Cups (day-old) cold cooked long-grain Jasmine rice

  • 1 Tablespoon oil (do not use olive)

  • 1 Tablespoon chopped garlic

  • 1/2 Teaspoon salt

Passion Fruit Butter Glazed Smoked Pork

Step 1.

Begin with slicing the Smoked Pork into 1 inch long slices that are about half an inch thick. In a small dish mix together the Make Hungry Maui Passion Fruit Butter and soy sauce.

Step 2.

Place pieces into a large frying pan (with no oil) and place on medium/high heat at approximately 450 degrees.

Brown for approximately 12-15 minutes.

Step 3.

With the heat still on add sauce to pan (be sure coat all of the Smoked Pork), shut off heat and transfer into a serving dish. (Do not skip this step as the dish may burn)

Garlic Rice

Step 1.

Pour 1 tablespoon oil into large pan and place on high heat. Toss in the garlic and brown, being extra careful not to burn (the browning will happen quickly due to the use of high heat).

Step 2.

Place rice into pan and break apart, heat rice through for approximately 2-3 minutes stirring constantly . Shut off heat and serve !

Quick Chef Tip!!!

Serving this dish with a pickled side dish adds a great complement to the flavors as well as great probiotics to help with digestion, we like a good Korean Kim Chee !!!

Serves 2-3 People
